On Thursday, May 7, Ad Grooten and his brother Coen will play at Kasteel Dussen.
'Ellen laughs' is a musical journey by Ad Grooten & the Big Brothers. Ad and his brother Coen tell the story of their ever-optimistic mother Ellen with catchy songs and anecdotes.
The idea for this theater tour came about when Ad opened a few boxes full of old letters from their mother, Ellen. Their performance recounts in a light-hearted tone her life, described in these letters; from the Dutch East Indies, the Japanese internment camps to sunny Curaçao.
Besides the brothers, a third man on stage: Jeroen Habraken, keyboardist and bassist. Not a real brother of Ad and Coen, but well on his way to becoming one.
