About VVV Biesboschlinie

VVV Biesboschlinie is the tourism and recreation office for the municipality of Altena, located in the northwest of North Brabant. We represent a region known for its combination of heritage, nature, and water, with Woudrichem and De Biesbosch National Park as two of its most famous destinations.

The tourist information office is located in the Fair van Ver fair trade shop in Woudrichem, where volunteers from the shop are on hand to answer questions. Volunteers are also available at the Biesbosch MuseumEiland visitor center in Werkendam to answer any questions about De Biesbosch National Park and the region.

What does VVV Biesboschlinie do for businesses?

VVV Biesboschlinie supports tourism businesses by helping them increase their visibility among tourists, share knowledge and inspiration, and strengthen collaboration within the region. This support includes, among other things:

Guides

With our guides, we provide tourists in our area with comprehensive information, including cycling routes and activities in the region. The guides are available free of charge. Together, we ensure they are available at as many locations as possible. On this page, you’ll find an overview of all the guides.

The guides are available during opening hours at the Fair van Ver fair trade shop in Woudrichem and at the Biesbosch MuseumEiland in Werkendam. At both locations, please check in at the ticket counter first and note how many guides you’re taking. Are you too busy but would still like to receive the guides? Please contact us.

VisitBrabant

Did you know that our content is also shared on our partner’s site, VisitBrabant? All locations on our website—from restaurants to B&Bs—are automatically listed on the VisitBrabant website as well. This allows us to expand our reach and ensure a strong, cohesive presentation of the region. All events are also posted on VisitBrabant.

How do I access your website?

Is your location not yet listed on our website? Email us the details (website, location, email, phone number) and a high-resolution image that we can use royalty-free. Would you like your event to be featured in the events calendar? Email us the information and a royalty-free photo. A listing on our website is free of charge.

Networking Mornings

We regularly organize networking events, usually on the first Monday of the month. This morning’s event is specifically for all tourism entrepreneurs and volunteers from Altena. This allows us to explore new tourist destinations, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at fellow entrepreneurs’ businesses and enabling us to refer guests to them. You’ll automatically receive an invitation via the business newsletter.

Image Library

The VVV Biesboschlinie image bank is full of images of the region. The images are available for free download by anyone who needs them to promote the region. Downloading is free. Each photo clearly states “Credit required upon use” in the license information; there you can also see whether the photographer must be credited. Simply create an account and search for images by category, tag, color, or just use the search form at the top. After creating an account, we must approve it. This usually happens within one hour on business days. You’ll receive an email when your account is approved. After logging back in, you’ll see more images.
