Exposition Eavesdropping & Listening

From December 7, 2025 to February 8, 2026, there will be a special interactive exhibition in the Gunpowder Warehouses of Symposion on Dalembolwerk.
A & B stands for Eavesdropping and Listening in the Fortified Town of Gorinchem. There is also a Warm and a Cold side to this exhibition.
In Kruitmagazijn 19-a there will be a cozy and warm atmosphere appropriate for Christmas and the New Year. Here the subject is the history of electric communication in Gorinchem and radio entertainment from before the War and in the 50's, 60's and 70's including nostalgic radios and music.
Kruitmagazijn 19-b is the cold side of this exhibition and therefore concerns the Cold War period in Gorinchem, when the Garrison here consisted largely of eavesdroppers, covertly eavesdropping on the radio communications of the Russian army from our fortified town.

Children (perhaps adults too) can send a message in Morse code between a and b, via a cable with lights or wirelessly via the earth.

The exhibition is FREE, there is heating and coffee is ready.
