New Biesbosch beer pays tribute to National Park De Biesbosch
Just in time for National Park Day, Bierbrouwerij De Magistraat from Almkerk is launching a new specialty beer: Biesboschbier. The fresh, light beer is a tribute to National Park De Biesbosch and is brewed in close cooperation with VVV Biesboschlinie.
Thanks to coordination with forest ranger and Biesbosch plant expert Pieter Schook, the beer has been brewed with herbs that are also found in the Biesbosch area, including meadowsweet and chamomile. This gives the beer its own, recognizable character that fits the nature of the region: fresh, accessible and with a subtle spicy touch.
Brewed with herbs also found in the Biesbosch, this beer transports you to a maze of rivers, willows and reeds. In this unique freshwater tidal area, home to the beaver and the osprey, ebb and flow determine the rhythm. Settle down, wander with your thoughts through the creeks and recharge in pure nature. A beer to enjoy.
Cooperation brings taste and regional story together
"With Biesboschbier, we wanted to create a beer that not only drinks well, but also tells the story of the Biesbosch," says Stan Schoofs on behalf of Bierbrouwerij De Magistraat. That's why we chose to collaborate with VVV Biesboschlinie. It's a beer that suits a sunny terrace or a moment of rest after a walk through nature."
Marianne Sijberden of the Biesboschlinie adds: "To protect the Biesbosch, it is important to tell the right story. This can be done through walking and cycling guides, but can certainly also be done through regional products. This Biesbosch beer takes the story of the Biesbosch further, so we are working together in the right way to market the region."
Inspired by the nature of the Biesbosch
National Park De Biesbosch is one of the most extraordinary nature reserves in the Netherlands. The freshwater tidal area is characterized by creeks, willow forests, reed beds and a rich animal life, including the beaver and the osprey as iconic inhabitants. That landscape was the inspiration for the new beer.
With the introduction of Biesboschbier, the Biesboschlinie and De Magistraat are inviting entrepreneurs, residents and visitors to take pride in the nature that makes the region so special.
