National Park De Biesbosch is a nature reserve like nowhere else. A maze of rivers and creeks with willows, reeds and winding paths. De Biesbosch is the largest freshwater tidal area in Europe and therefore indispensable. The diversity of plants and animals is enormous, with icons such as the beaver, kingfisher, sea eagle and osprey. Here nature, as well as man, recharges.
The area has a rich history: from floods to nature development and from generations of rush and reed cutters to recreational enterprise. All this makes the Biesbosch the unique nature reserve of today. Wander, whisper, pedal or paddle endlessly through this breathtaking area.

At the Biesbosch MuseumEiland , discover the stories of the past, present and future of this unique freshwater tidal area. In the museum, learn about the Sint Elisabethflood that created the Biesbosch in 1421, the challenges of living with water, vanished crafts, the unique flora and fauna that the tide brings and much more.
Then experience National Park De Biesbosch for yourself. You can do so during one of the whisper tours or a walk at Buitenmuseum De Pannekoek. The museum is also the ideal base during a visit to the Biesbosch. Enjoy a delicious lunch with seasonal products in Museumcafé Biesonder, get inspired by the temporary exhibition or admire the scale model of this area in the Biesbosch Experience.

The podcast is intended for anyone exploring the Biesbosch by canoe, whisper boat or sloop.
