About VVV Biesboschlinie
VVV Biesboschlinie is the tourism and recreation agency in the municipality of Altena, located in northwestern North Brabant. We represent a region known for its combination of heritage, nature and water, with Woudrichem and National Park De Biesbosch being two of the best-known destinations. So even if you searched for VVV Altena, VVV Woudrichem or VVV Biesbosch, you've come to the right place.
The tourist information office is located in the Fair van Ver fair trade shop in Woudrichem, where volunteers from the shop are on hand to answer questions. Volunteers are also available at the Biesbosch MuseumEiland visitor center in Werkendam to answer any questions about De Biesbosch National Park and the region.

Where can I rent a canoe in the Biesbosch?
You’ll find the canoe rental locations on this page. Please note that these rental companies do not deliver canoes to your location. So be sure to check the starting point of the route you want to paddle and rent your canoe there.

Which route would you recommend?
The Aakvlaai Route is a 6-kilometer-long route and ideal for beginners. It features winding creeks, quiet beaches, and the chance to spot beavers and spoonbills. Paddle past small islands, an old tjalk, and nature that changes colors with every season. Peaceful, safe, and different every time! You can rent a canoe at the starting point: Docks Vissershang.
Are you an advanced canoeist? Then we recommend the Vijfambachtenroute. A day trip of 27 km full of variety. The route takes you through narrow creeks and over wider waterways. Enjoy the rich nature and stop along the way for a break, or take a walk on the Deeneplaat. You can rent the canoe at the starting point: Jachthaven van Oversteeg.

Dogs
Can I bring my dog on the trails?
In general, you’re allowed to bring your dog throughout the entire region (including the Biesbosch), provided it’s on a leash. The Oostwaardpad route passes through farmyards. In that case, you’re not allowed to walk your dog there, even if it’s on a leash.

Can I also pick up your guidebooks in person?
Our guides are available for free pickup during business hours at the Fair van Ver fair trade shop in Woudrichem and at the Biesbosch MuseumEiland in Werkendam. The stamp cards for the QRfgoed mill tour are included in the “Heritage Routes” guide. This guide is available at the locations mentioned above, as well as at all the windmills along the windmill tour route. Where can I park my car?
You can park for free anywhere within the fortified town. Navigate to Hoogstraat 55 for the parking lot at the Janus Baks Bastion (near the foot ferry to Loevestein), or navigate to the Schapendam parking lot.
Where can I park my tour bus?
You can park your tour bus for free at the Schapendam parking lot.

Here you’ll find all accommodation options along the Biesbosch Line. Bookings are made directly through the respective providers. Unfortunately, we do not have visibility into the availability of these accommodations.
