Hiking in the Biesbosch Line
Walk fit, stretch your legs, take a detour: you can do it in the Biesboschlinie. Take a short city walk through Woudrichem or walk a stage of the Liniepad along the Dutch Waterlines. This part of the Netherlands, at the crossroads of Noord-Brabant, Zuid-Holland and Gelderland, is a living landscape full of stories, unexpected vistas and resting points where you can stop for a moment. Spot birds and look for beaver tracks, dive into the history of the area or just enjoy the silence and walk to clear your head.

Out and about with the family? Choose one of the special walking tours for children! Go on an adventure and discover fortified town Woudrichem during an interactive city walk for children. During the gnome walk in the Almbos , children can expend their energy with search, think and exercise assignments. But also during the regular walking routes there is plenty for children to experience: walk along forts and casemates for an exciting journey of discovery through history, or look for animal tracks in one of the many nature reserves.

The Almpad, between Giessen and Uitwijk, was enthusiastically conceived this spring by our volunteer Lianne. The walk takes you through the Almbos, along Fort Giessen, the small river Alm and through the outskirts of Giessen and Uitwijk.

Fortified town Woudrichem is the only town in the Biesbosch Line. The town is strategically located at the confluence of Maas and Waal, at the junction of 3 provinces, and is known for salmon fishing. Discover the Martinus tower and sailing heritage, among other things.

Under the spell of the Cold War
The war that never wanted to become a war, but caused enormous tension and fear among civilians. The period between 1945 and 1991 is known as the Cold War. Also in the Biesboschlinie you will find remnants of this period.
