Hiking in the Biesbosch Line
There are many ways to explore the Biesbosch Line on foot. Take a short city walk through Woudrichem, head out into nature, or hike a section of the Liniepad along the Dutch Water Lines.
This part of the Netherlands, at the crossroads of North Brabant, South Holland, and Gelderland, is a living landscape full of stories, unexpected vistas, and peaceful spots. Spot birds and look for beaver tracks, discover historic forts and fortresses, or simply enjoy the peace and open spaces.

Out and about with the family? Choose one of the special walking tours for children! Go on an adventure and discover fortified town Woudrichem during an interactive city walk for children. During the gnome walk in the Almbos , children can expend their energy with search, think and exercise assignments. But also during the regular walking routes there is plenty for children to experience: walk along forts and casemates for an exciting journey of discovery through history, or look for animal tracks in one of the many nature reserves.

The Almpad, walking along the water, Fort Giessen and meadows
The Almpad, between Giessen and Uitwijk, was enthusiastically conceived this spring by our volunteer Lianne. The walk takes you through the Almbos, along Fort Giessen, the small river Alm and through the outskirts of Giessen and Uitwijk.
