Tour of Altena
Cycling route 'Ronde van Altena' takes you along all 21 cores of the municipality of Altena. Tour over dikes, through villages and across the polder, along the fortified town and through the Biesbosch.
Due to the construction of the new Merwede Bridge near the A27, the bicycle underpass beneath the A27 is closed. Cyclists can continue their route via Kerkeinde, Staleenden, and Kooikamp. Of course, the detour route is also marked with signs.
A cycling route, the “Ronde van Altena,” takes you through all 21 villages in the municipality of Altena. Tour along dikes, through villages, and right across the polder, past the fortified town, and through the Biesbosch. Meet up with friends, enjoy a leisurely bike ride together, take a break at an outdoor café, and enjoy everything our beautiful municipality has to offer.
With loop in the Biesbosch, the route is 105 km. Without loop it is 80 km.
