Collectieboomgaard Den Hill in Babyloniënbroek houses more than 200 historic apple and pear varieties and produces the artisanal Altena juice.
Collectieboomgaard Den Hill is a living collection of more than 200 historic apple and pear varieties, some dating back to the 14th century. The goal is to preserve forgotten varieties, biodiversity and the livability of the countryside. In late summer and early fall, the fruit is harvested and sold through a self-serve roadside stand. In addition, the unsprayed fruit is pressed into the artisanal juice "Altena juice."
